    Do you know What is single registration? It is the Federal Government's program that aims to collect data on low-income families.

    The idea is precisely to create a database to track citizens in vulnerable situations or in extreme poverty. This register will facilitate the decision for the distribution of resources and the implementation of public policies.

    You may not be in the program's target audience, but it is still important to understand what single registration is and how it works.

    Only with the dissemination of this information, low-income people will be able to receive adequate attention from public policies.

    WHAT IS SINGLE REGISTRATION: DEFINITION

    The Single Registry is coordinated by the Ministry of Citizenship of the Federal Government. According to Caixa Econômica Federal, the single registry is the set of information about Brazilian families in extreme poverty.

    Once registered, this information is used by the municipalities and also by the Federal Government for the creation of public policies, with the objective of guaranteeing the improvement of the quality of life of these families.

    WHAT IS SINGLE REGISTRATION: WHO SHOULD REGISTER

    At first, the program was created only for low-income families. Families that receive up to half a minimum wage per person (R$ 522,50) are considered low-income. Or, that family group that has a total monthly income of up to 3 minimum wages (R$ 3.135,00).

    WHAT IS THE SINGLE REGISTRATION FOR?

    As we have already mentioned, the main objective of the single registry is to track the most needy families. With this, it is possible to base public actions to increase the quality of life of these families and the distribution of public resources.

    In addition, several social programs of the Federal Government make use of the single registry for the selection of families.

    With these data, it is possible to know the reality of these families from a socioeconomic perspective, based on information such as: family nucleus, characteristics of the household, condition of access to essential public services and also data of each participant in the family nucleus.

    WHAT IS A SINGLE REGISTRATION: SOCIAL PROGRAMS

    Some Federal Government social assistance programs use the single registry as a research base. That is, its beneficiaries are selected according to the information registered.

    Here is a list of these social programs:

    • Bolsa Família Program;
    • My Home, My Life Program;
    • Bolsa Verde – Support Program for Environmental Conservation;
    • Program for the Eradication of Child Labor – PETI;
    • Promotion – Promotion Program for Rural Productive Activities;
    • Elderly Card;
    • Retirement for low-income people;
    • Program our country Carinhoso;
    • Tank Program;
    • Popular Telephone;
    • Carta Social;
    • Pro Young Teen;
    • Social Electricity Tariff;
    • Free pass for people with disabilities;
    • Exemption from Fees in Public Tenders.

    It is worth mentioning that the single registration does not guarantee the automatic enrollment of its participants to the social programs described above. Each of them has its own selection criteria and also a different procedure for registration.

    In addition to the Federal Government, municipalities can use the single registry for the same purposes.

    WHAT IS SINGLE REGISTRATION: HOW TO REGISTER

    The most important part of this text is the guidance on how to register. Usually, municipalities provide professionals to visit these low-income families periodically and register.

    However, if your family fits the income requirements and has not yet been covered by the municipality's visit, don't worry!

    You don't have to wait to register. Just look for a Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) in the municipality and request registration.

    To register, it is important to have:

    – A person responsible for the family (or representative), to answer the questions. This person must be part of the family, live in the same house and be 16 years of age or older;

    – For the person responsible for the family, it is necessary to present the CPF or voter registration card. However, there is an exception for indigenous people and quilombolas, who can present a greater variety of documents, not needing to be specifically the CPF or voter registration;

    – Present at least one document of all family members, such as: birth certificate; wedding certificate; CPF; ID; RANI (in the case of indigenous people); CTPS or voter registration.

    - Proof of residence. It could be a water or electricity bill. This item is not mandatory, but makes it easier to fill in the address.

    After registering, it is important to keep the family data up to date.

    Whenever something changes, such as the birth of a child, moving house or work, or when someone no longer lives in the house, the family responsible must look for the CRAS and update the data.

    HOW TO KNOW IF I'M IN THE SINGLE REGISTRATION

    The consultation can be carried out through several channels, including the Federal Government developed an application called Meu CadÚnico.

    By downloading the app and informing the necessary data for consultation, it is possible to verify your registration.

    In addition, on the Caixa Econômica Federal website, CadÚnico's numbers and other service channels are available.

    WHAT IS A SINGLE REGISTRATION AND ITS SOCIAL FUNCTION

    CadÚnico is a tool to unite social programs and their beneficiaries. Through it, it is possible to identify and contemplate families with programs aimed at social development.

    If you fall within the income limits of the Cadastro Único Program, be sure to look for a Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) and register.

    But before leaving home to register, it's worth downloading the app and making sure you're not already in the program.

    Now that you know what single registration is and how important it is, how about sharing this post with someone who can benefit?
