Is it allowed to drive without the CRLV?

It is important to note that, in our country, drivers are not allowed to drive without two essential documents, the National Driver's License (CNH) and the CRLV. If any traffic authority approaches you in traffic and you are not carrying these documents, you will be committing a minor infraction, according to our country's Traffic Code (CTB), and you will be fined for it. You may also receive a fine of R$88,38 and 3 points on your CNH. Your vehicle will be held until you present the correct documentation.

But it is worth remembering that since 2022, if the transit authority has some way of accessing the computerized system of the body for which it works and verifying the vehicle's license, the mandatory carrying of the CRLV may be waived. But, just in case, it's always good to have the documentation at your fingertips.
