INSS proof of life by cell phone: About the INSS service

The project was developed by the INSS with the collaboration of the Special Secretariat for Debureaucratization, Management and Digital Government, the Ministry of Economy, the Pension Technology and Information Company (Dataprev) and the Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro).

The identification process takes place through digital facial biometrics and that is why it is important that the beneficiaries have a cell phone that has a camera in hand. In addition, users must have their biometrics registered in the Electoral Court or National Driver's License (CNH).

The databases used are provided by the National Traffic Department (Denatran) and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). To keep the retirees and pensioners already eligible informed, the INSS is sending SMS and emails to contact the group of people. In addition, the material is disseminated on the Institute's official networks and channels and also through the Meu INSS app.

What happens if I am unable to complete the INSS Proof of Life?

When a user does not perform the proof of life, the benefit is blocked. Due to the difficulties imposed by the unfolding of Covid-19 in the country, Ordinance No. 1.278, published on February 24, communicated the extension of the procedure in March and April 2022.
