Cate Blanchett played Galadriel in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings series, but if she had what she wanted, she would have a double duty playing a second character.
Appearing on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, Blanchett said she pitched Peter Jackson and co-writer Fran Walsh with the idea of ​​her playing a dwarf woman during a banquet scene in the epic fantasy film. The Australian actress lobbied to help create another female character in a male-focused film franchise.
“There aren't many puppies in Tolkien's universe,” she said (via CinemaBlend) “I loved it so much and told Peter and Fran that they were having a feast scene with a lot of dwarves. Blanchett didn't get what she wanted due to the change in filming schedule. Filming on the Galadriel scenes took just three weeks, Blanchett added.
