How to create an online store on Facebook

Learn step by step how to create a virtual store on Facebook to start promoting your products on the social network and use it in your digital marketing strategy.

The first point here is to know that you need to have a Facebook page to be able to create your store. If you don't have one, in this text we teach you how to create one.


If you already have it, you're ready to take the next steps:


Step 1. Enter the store creation page in Commerce Manager;

Step 2. Em Choose a way to sell, click on create a store and then in To start;


Step 3. Em Active, Click + Create a store;

Step 4. Now, in the section Start setting up your storechoose Your site and click Start .

Step 5. Em Select your company, you will have to choose which page you want to add your store to. Only pages managed by you will appear in the list;

Step 6. That done, click Advance;

Step 7. Em Account details, enter an Account Name and select business account, then click Advance.

Step 8. In the section Where people can see your store, choose where you want to create your store. Here you can configure so that your store also appears on Instagram;

Step 9. Em Catalogue, create your product catalog and then click Advance.

Step 10. Now, check all store details and accept the Performance and Seller Accountability Policies. If you agree, click create your store.

Observation: you can create just one catalog to use in your store. You will not be able to change this selection later. If you already have a catalog created, you can use it in the process of creating your online store on Facebook.


That's it, Facebook will analyze your request and, if everything is ok, your store will go live soon!



How to enable the Store tab on your page 

Step 1. Visit Cconfigurations and then click on Templates and guides.

Step 2.  On the tabs, find the option Shop and activate the switch, leaving it blue, so that the tab is activated on your page.

Ready. Now that the Store tab is activated on your page, it's time to start the promotion process and start putting your products up for sale.

How to create an online store on Facebook: personalization

In the process of creating a virtual store on Facebook, you can customize your store so that it looks like your company.

In Commerce Manager, when you add a new product or collection to your store, you can customize how you want them to appear. To do this, just use the Store Configurator. In it, you can:

  • Add, remove and organize featured collections, products and product grids very easily from the drag and drop function;
  • Select which collections will be highlighted at the top of the store;
  • Change the text size and color of buttons and details;
  • Preview a preview of what the store will look like on Facebook and Instagram, in both light and dark mode on these social networks.

Resources available in our country

Here in our country, we still have some limitations in the Facebook store. That's why we've listed EVERYTHING you can do within your online store:


add products: You can add products and information about them within your store. It is not necessary that you already have a product catalog uploaded to another website and there is also no limit on how many products you can upload.


Organization: you can customize the way you present your store. A tip is to divide your products by collections so that your customers find what they want faster.

Featured: You can choose to highlight multiple products.

Customer relationship: People interested in your products will be able to contact you quickly. Directly in the messages on your page, they will be able to ask questions and close a purchase.


Data and metrics: it is possible to have the data of how many views each product had and also how many messages you received.

How is the payment done?

You must be asking yourself? “How do I get paid for purchases made in my store?” In our country, payment is not yet being carried out directly on the page.

The sale can be closed through Facebook Messenger, with you and your customer talking and choosing the best payment method. Or you can direct people to your e-commerce where the customer can close the sale.

In these two types of sale, Facebook does not receive any percentage of the purchase price. The money from the sale is 100% your business!

But be aware: it is possible that the social network will charge some fee in the future, as already happens in large marketplaces.

Image and video rules for virtual stores on Facebook

There are some rules to be followed by those who want to learn how to create a virtual store on Facebook. These are basic Facebook requirements and recommendations for product images and descriptions.

RULES FOR IMAGES

Facebook determines as a rule that each product must have at least one image. It must be an actual photo of the product. The use of product icons or illustrations is not allowed.

This is so that people understand what your product is and are really interested in it. As a recommendation, it is interesting that you:

  • Use images that are easy to understand, that show the entire product with a WHITE BACKGROUND. The image must be in SQUARE format with a resolution of 1024 x 1024 pixels or more.
  • Do not use images that have text, such as headlines or codes and offensive content (nudity, explicit language or violence).
  • Do not use promotional or advertising material. Avoid watermarked images and time-limited information.

RULES FOR DESCRIPTIONS

In the descriptions, the only requirement is that it be in rich text. That is, made in any of the programs of the Office package, such as Word, for example. HTML text descriptions will not be accepted by Facebook.

As a recommendation, descriptions should have product information only. Make texts easy to understand and highlight unique product features.


Avoid putting phone numbers or email addresses in the descriptions during the steps on how to create an online store on Facebook. Also avoid long titles, excessive punctuation, and the use of all uppercase or all lowercase letters.

RULES FOR VARIANTS

Variants are product-specific information such as: color or size.

Facebook's rule is that each product must have a maximum of four variants. So that your customer's screen is not filled with irrelevant information, remember to put what is extremely necessary in the process of how to create an online store on Facebook.

As a recommendation, Facebook asks not to use abbreviations. For example, use expressions like “SMALL SIZE” instead of “SIZE P”.

The idea is that the variants are all listed in a single product and not split into multiple products. For example: if you have the same shirt in S, M and L, just register the shirt in the Facebook virtual store and make these options available as variants.

    I created a sales page on my facebook, to sell comics and toys related to superheroes.
    The comics are from my collection. As well as toys. New and used.
    However, I can't get the store to be approved. I follow all the steps, watch videos and tutorials on the internet. I follow straight. ANYTHING!
    I created a cool username and page name. I wouldn't want to lose it.
    Today, I managed to place some ads and link with payment on pagseguro. I thought everything was fine, but, I noticed that my page is not found in searches, as well as when clicking on the links in the ads, nothing happens, It is not directed to the Payment Gateway.
    But the WORST thing is that facebook sends me messages saying that my page, as well as the ads were not approved, due to SPAM practice.
    I never sent anything to anyone. I didn't post anything on a personal page. So much so that I created the sales page.
    I don't know what I did wrong. And, there is no way to contact Facebook. What to do? Can you help me?

    I have a Drinks company, we sell frozen drinks with pulp and natural fruits and distilled drinks. Is there any way I can add a showcase on Facebook? Is there something on Facebook that can block this type of product?

    Do I need to have a website to create the catalog and store? Currently, I don't have a website or a domain and I don't even sell via e-commerce, but I use Instagram a lot for negotiations and sales via DM or Whatsapp.
